A little sympathie card

I thought I use my “leaves stamp set” to create this little sympathie card (started with the letter “S”). I also have used my circle dies to die-cut a circle card and I have stamped some leaves and some acorns.

I have die-cutted several circles out of different pieces of cardstock. I die-cutted one circle out of glitter cardstok. I die-cutted the smallest circle from white cardstock and I cut this circle in half and then snip the top half into two sections and the bottom half into two sectinons.
I used memento ink to stamp the leaves and acorn, because I planned to colour them with my alcohol markers. I added a little distress ink around the white circles.
Then I placed each of the segments onto the glitter cardstock, leaving narrow gaps. Layered all the pieces onto the card front using 3D foam pads to finish. When I was almost ready I thougt a little text would be nice too. So I stamped this with a little Distress Archival Ink in the color “ground espresso”.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope to see you again soon! Bye,

A not so scary halloween card

After a busy weekend (my son turned 16, so we celebrated a big party), I found finally time to do some crafting. Here in the Netherlands, winter time has started this weekend. The days are getting shorter and the dark outside comes much quicker. Through every street runs a shadow rushing for some place to hide … real Halloween time!

With this card, I am more than satisfied with my passion for making cards! Have been wonderfully busy.

I first edited the background with distress ink. And of course I drawn some flashy lightning in it. I then printed out the free digital stamp and colored it with my alcohol markers. I punched a few mounds of black paper with my die-cutting machine. Then I thought the card was a bit bare. That is why I myself drew, colored and cut out the ghost and the two pumpkins. Then I also gave this a nice place on the card. I matted the card on black glitter cardstock. I wrote by hand: “Happy Halloween”, with a white gell pen.

Thank you for your visit and your visit to my card making web blog. I hope to see you next time!

Washitape is a crafters best friend…

This morning I was peeking on youtube. Gerry van Gerry’s Craftroom had a nice video: one that makes your fingers itch. Halfway through, I couldn’t resist getting started myself.

I love tutorials or YouTube videos that inspire you to get started with your own craft supplies. Even though you do not have exactly the same in-house as the youtuber shows, but you can still give it your own twist.

I have therefore also taken my own supply of washitape (Craft Sensation). And instead of alcohol ink I used my ranger distress ink. And of course my Big Shot Plus is used. I used the CUT-IES Spring Swirl (20060) die cut. But I do not know where the leaves came from, I am sorry for that. (I have them for a long time and I store everything in a blank sleeve).

When the card was finished, I decided not to put any text or anything on it. I have stuck everything on a brown card: a color cardstock that I don’t usually use either. All the colors together gave the cards a real Autumn look!

They have become very beautiful: very special. Even though I took the photos in daylight, in real life they are more beautiful than in the photo, I think.

Thank you for visiting my cardmaking blog. I hope you have become as inspired as I was! I wish you a lot of craft fun and I hope you will come back to my blog!

Harry Potter Halloween Card

I was completely happy with making this card! So nice to do: delicious!
And who doesn’t love Harry Potter now? More reasons to be happy, right ?!

I used a digital image of Harry Potter that I still had on my computer. I have adjusted the format a bit so that it worked out well in the sketch I used. I designed the card’s side a – la the Griffindor scarf. I colored Harry himself nicely with my alcohol markers. I have matted the picture on the colors that match the theme. I also used a lot of black in the card.

When I showed him to my son, he said “Mom, you have to add the Griffindor logo”. I started searching the internet and that logo was found quickly. I have changed the format and printed a tiny logo on my computer. I then pasted this, as it was instructed in the sketch, into the upper right corner.

I say again: this card really makes me happy. It is crafted with a lot of pleasure and it reminded me why I like making cards so much.

I hope you enjoy my card too! In any case, thank you very much for your visit and I hope to see you a next time!

Sparkling snow

To be honest: I am not sure what to think about this card. I am actually missing something. But I also don’t want to add anything else, because otherwise I’m afraid it will be too busy. Well.
I’ve been busy with this card! Cut out some circles, stamped and embossed some snowstars. Cut out some snow stars. I have added a silver glitter border and a strip of washitape. I also had very small snow stars in my stash, and I added them too.

I hope you like my card. Or maybe you see at once what is missing ?! Anyway: I like to hear it!

Believe

Making this card was so incredibly easy that I am almost ashamed to participate in a challenge! I came up with this idea based on the various themes and prompts given in the challenge blogs, which I had selected in advance.

Today a busy day at home here. Saturday is groceries day and I needed to go to the hairdresser. Tonight we have a birthday. And in between all companies just a little time to spend some time on making a card.

I picked out some nice challenges, to make it a bit harder for myself, even though I didn’t have that much time.

The challenges I am entering are :
Alphabetchellenge – O = for One word challenge -> Believe
Brown Sugar – AG
CAS on Friday – Masculine Card : I think the color scheme fits well on a card for a man.
Color My Heart Color Dare – Love of color palette – see the colorpalette below.
Color Crazy Craft Challenge – Anything coloring goes – I have colored the circles with alcoholmarkers.
Creative Fingers – AG
Allsorts Challenge blog – Spots and /or Stripes

I placed the stencil on my card and use it to colore all the little circles. Maybe it looks like a lot of work, but the card was ready in less then 10 minutes, I think!
I used my alcoholmarkers, a white piece of cardstock (30 x 15 cm), and some matching Ranger Archival Ink (fossilized amber) to stamp the word. I leave some white space in between because I was afraid it was getting to busy. And afcourse leaving some white space makes the card “CAS” proof too, I hope!

I hope you like my card. Thank you for your visit and have a nice weekend!
