It was very rainy here in the Netherlands today. So perfect weather to make some cards! I love to browse the internet and see what other people make. And during one of those scavenger hunts, I came across a card made with a Polkadoodle stamp. I was immediately sold and I had to make a card with a cute little mermaid!
However, I did not use an original stamp from Polkadoodle, but I draw this cute mermaid myself (and to be very clear about this: I copied it after an image from the Pokadoodle website, just to trie and challenge myself!) and incorporated it on my card. Because I like to draw very much and I have to challenge myself so every now and than!
I used also a self-made background paper: this one I made with the neocolor II aquarelle sticks, a nice stencil and some gesso. I colored the mermaid with my watercolor paint of “Art by Marlene”. This paint has very nice bright colors. The seaweed and the shells are stamps from Craftsensations and I colored them with the Shiny Metallic Water Colour Paints from “Creative Artist”! I also punched out the background and stuck it on a piece of glitter cardstock. Afcourse this girl needed some pearls here and there and I doodled some dots in her hair with glitter gellpen and a white gellyroll pen.
I loved how the card turned out it is super cute and I am sure it will make one of my nieces very happy!
Thank you for stopping bye and I hope to see you a next time again!
