Digi Choosday Challenge / Wk 40 – A card for the grandparents – use a circle die and create a frame for the card – Polkadoodles

It’s Tuesday! New challenge starts over at Digi Choosday today! As always it is anything goes but the design team is sharing their makes with a given theme. This week we are challenged to make a A card for the grandparents. We are also challenged to use a circle die and create a frame for the card!

This is my card:

Ahw, my grandpa and grandma ā€¦ Unfortunately I have been missing them for a while. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed making this card! So, with my grandparents in mind, I have been crafting this project! They will have loved it šŸ™‚
I have the cute digistamp and the background paper all from the Festive Hollybobs collection ! This fantastic Collection is all about everything Christmas Holidays related and includes a lot of great stuff to make a whole bunch of christmas related projects! The Festive hollybobs collection is a part of Polkadoodles Character Series. The Work & Play collections are a serious of downloads perfect for all those work related jobs and hobby themes – choose from musical instruments to Farming, Police, Firefighters and 100s of great themes! Available with co-ordinating papers and sentiments for each theme.

Details about my card:
– First I selected my digi stamp and the design paper and printed it out. I printed the background paper
on thin paper and the stamp on thick paper;
– now that I know the main colors of my card, I also know the color scheme that I will use for the stamp;
– this time I used my Promarkers to color the stamp;
– with colored pencil I applied shadow;
– the card and background paper are die-cutted with a StudioLight die-cut;
– I also die-cut all kinds of snowflakes and 2 Christmas twigs;
– I wanted a Dutch text on my card. I printed out “for grandpa and grandma” and made a small tag out
of it;
– I edited the tag with some distress ink;
– I loved the little bells to attach to the top of the card under the bow;
– I secured the tulle bow and the embellishments with a brad in the shape of a star;
– I also distressed my circle frame a bit;
– then I glued everything onto my main card;
– I glued little glitter stones to the snowflakes;
– and I smeared some fake snow on the twigs;
– I once bought ugly white sticky pearls in a sale. I colored a few of those small sticky pearls red with an
alcohol marker and stuck them on the twigs;
– the text at the bottom of the card is Dutch for Happy Holidays;
– I couldn’t resist punching and gluing some more hearts out of the remaining background paper.

It was really a joy to work on this card.

Wishing you all the best and hope to see you next time again! Good luck with challenge at

Aud Sentiments Challenge – #261 Digidoodle studios

Hello dear people! How are you! We are already in the first week of October: I just can’t believe it. Summer is definitely over and we are making Halloween cards!

So, lets go to a new challenge at Aud Sentiments now!

Our sponsor is: Digi Doodle Studios.

This is my card using the image called Ghostly Trio.

“Aren’t they super cute?!” The illustration is very easy to color!

Details about my card:
As you can see the design is very simple, although it is not easy to give the three ghosts a color šŸ™‚ I dotted the stars in the background with glitter markers. I still had some black punched-out stars from my previous project and I used them in this card.

This Halloween greetingcard is not scary at all and that is sometimes nice for a change!

With this card I would love to play along in the following challenges:

An interactive card ā€¦ hmmm We do not realy celebrate Thanksgiving in the Netherlands, but there are plenty of people to thank šŸ™‚ So I decided this week to make a Thanksgiving interactive Double Slider Card! I have lots of fun because I enjoy using and coloring the lovely Winnie Sunshine Delights digistamp and I have used the Lil Miss Sugarpops Distress Ink Papers papers.

Details about my card:
– First I made the slider card with with the instructions of this tutorial I have found on the web;
– I printed out the very cute digistamp at Polkadoodles, called Winnie Sunshine Delights digistamp and I
printed out some of the distress ink paper spots design paper;
– I colored the stamp with my copic ciao markers;
I punched some hearts from the distress design paper;
– the semtiments comes from the Winnie Heroes printable downloadbundle;
– I print and glued everything on the base card.

I really love the effect of the double slider card: it is a real surprise when you pull the little circle on top of the card!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #260-Queen Bee-The Paper Shelter

Hello my crafty friends! It’s time for another challenge over at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog!

Our theme for this week is: Anything Goes + A Sentiment (Please make sure your card and sentiment follow the theme)

Our sponsor is: The Paper Shelter

This is my card using the image called The Queen Bee. Isn’t she the cutest queen you’ve ever seen?

The digistamps are nice and sharp and print very nicely! Completely ready for coloring ā€¦

How I made my card:

  1. First, I printed this incredibly fun digital stamp “The Queen Bee” on a somewhat thicker paper;
  2. Beforehand I googled for a suitable bee sentiment! I placed it with a nice font next to my digistamp
    in my photoshop elements;
  3. Then I colored it with my copic markers;
  4. I also distressed the card with some distress ink. Only to get rid of the very white!
  5. I like this stamp so much that I don’t want too much hassle around it. On the background of the card I decided to only choose some nice matching colors of cardstock and that is it.

And I don’t have much more to tell you dear craft friends! This is all. Nothing more fun than coloring and making cards, right?

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! And if you would leave me some love: click on the post title and scroll all the way down to the post. There will you find the comment section! Thank you very much!

Digi Choosday Challenge / Wk 36 – Halloween (A 3D project) – Polkadoodles

It’s Tuesday! New challenge starts over at Digi Choosday today! As always it is anything goes but the design team is sharing their makes with a given theme: Halloween (use of 2 backing papers and to make a 3D project with it)! Now I have a little problem when it comes to Halloween. I run wild and craft and tinker as if my life depended on it! Halloween is just kind of a muse of mine šŸ™‚ So I tinkered all kinds of things with the beautiful Witchie Witchie downloadbundle from Polkadoodles with beautiful Halloween colors and pictures: with all that beauty you will be sweet all afternoon!

This is what I have made:

I started with the little “witch-hat-box”. I searched all over internet to find me a pattern that I had in my mind. And I used a little piece of black cardstock to make a witch hat too. I had some bow embellishments in my stash that matches perfect with the purple paper from the box.

Details about the big green box:
– I first printed out the paper for the gift box and the pictures on somewhat thicker cardstock (300 grm);
– I cut everything out and put it together and glued everything together;
– I still had some black ribbons lying around and I slung them around the hand barrels of the gift box;;
– and it is actually not much more exciting. But the paper and pictures are so beautiful, all you have to do is print and cut!

The shadowbox card is a bit more work! But if you like fuzzy cutting it shouldn’t be a problem! Below you can see the front of my card. It is very simple: I pasted some of the beautiful paper on the black front. I cut out the black cat, a picture included in the Witchie Witchie kit, pasted it on white cardstock and matted it on black cardstock. The focus should be on the inside.

I also covered the inside with paper from the kit on the left. The background of the box itself is also included in the package. I printed the background a few times in the same format. Then I started to work up the background in 3D technology. So I cut out the various elements and glued them on with foam tape to give it more depth. In the foreground I have pasted all the “scary” melon faces.

As said all the paper (except the black cardstock) comes from The Witchie Witchie download bundle from Polkadoodles! The only thing you need yourself is some embellishments, cardstock, glue and scissors is of course also handy šŸ™‚

Wishing you all the best and hope to see you next time again! Good luck with challenge at

Aud Sentiments Challenge #259- Just a note – Polkadoodles

Hello dear people! How are you! We are already in the first week of September: I just can’t believe it. Summer has flown by and in the meantime we are also making Halloween and Christmas cards! But still just a nice summer card in between today!

Well, lets go to a new challenge at Aud Sentiments now!

Our sponsor is: Polkadoodles and I have used one of the sponsor images: Just a Note for my card.

This is my card using the image called Just a note.

“Isn’t it cute?!” Oh yes, that was what came to my mind,when I first saw this beautiful digistamp. The illustration looks very detailled, but I can asure you that it is very easy to color!

Details about my card:
As you can see the design is very simple. For this nice picture, I focused all my attention on coloring. I used my copic markers and colored pencils to accentuate the shadows here and there.

And it really isn’t any more! But that is not necessary. Just a Note of Polkadoodles is beautiful enough!

Digi Choosday Challenge / Wk 34 – Autumn (use autumn colors) – Polkadoodles

It’s Tuesday! New challenge starts over at Digi Choosday today! As always it is anything goes but the design team is sharing their makes with a given theme: Autumn / use autumn colors!
This is my card:

When I made this card, it was still full in summer! In fact, there was a heat wave. I made this card puffing and sweating šŸ™‚ I wanted to experiment with a distress background technique! And I punched leaves out of the edge with a simple old fashioned paper punch.

Details about my card:
– First I made the background card with a few beautiful autumn colors of distress ink;
– then I punched out a border of leaves in the background;
– I printed out the very cute digistamp at Polkadoodles, called Nature Lover (you will find it here: the
digistamp) and I printed out some of the distress ink paper spots design paper;
– I colored Nature Lover – digi stamp with my alcohol markers;
I punched some leaves from the distress design paper;
– the text: “Thanks” comes from the Winnie Heroes printable downloadbundle;
– in photoshop elements I made the text white and put it on a black background;
– then I cut out my text and pasted it on the card;
– then I pasted everything on: suggesting that the leaves are whirling down from the punched-out leaves
in the edge;
– I cut a card from fresh white cardstock;
– I glued everything on the white base card.

I really love the colors and the little fall scene on the card too!

Wishing you all the best and hope to see you next time again! Good luck with challenge at

This is my card using the image called Garden Party.

As you might know me by now, you know that I loooooove gnomes! So it was not hard for me to work on this weeks challenge!

This is how I made my card:

  1. First, I printed this incredibly fun digital stamp “Garden Party” on a somewhat thicker paper.
  2. Then I colored it with my alcohol markers For the shading I used some color pencils too.
  3. I cut my colored image into a square and matted on a yellow piece of cardstock.
  4. Than I glued my image on a larger piece of pattern paper from Marianne Design.
  5. When I was coloring the image, I was singing: “let’s get this party started…” so you know now how I came up with this sentiment.
